Get home safe with V Cars

Whether you’re on a night out with your friends and need a lift to and from the bars or are in a vulnerable situation and don’t have cash on you, V Cars is here to get you home safely.

When using private hire vehicles in and around the city be sure to remember to:

• Always use a reputable firm and make sure the vehicle has the firms logo on it when it arrives
• Never get into an unlicensed vehicle. Licensed vehicles have either a yellow or white plate on the rear attached to the bumper. This plate has their registration number and Council license number on it. In the event of a problem you will need these numbers, so note them down.
• If you flag a car down or collect one on a rank, this is known as a Hackney carriage. Even if the car has a company’s logo on it, by picking up in this way they are not operating with a company at this time but are operating independently. It’s worth knowing this as we wouldn’t be able to identify the driver and may not be able to help you with any issues if they arise
• A four-seat car costs less than a five, six or seven seat vehicle (there are extra charges for more than 4 people) and there are fewer cars that can accommodate larger groups so wait times may be longer at peak times.

When using our app you’ll be able to track your car, view the registration number, make, model and colour of the vehicle and pay by cash or card. Easy!
